Elke Weiss studied Dramaturgy and Art at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Germany. For over nine years, she worked as Director of Photography for various TV stations in Germany.16 years ago she developed, produced, and directed a TV show with a run of two years. 'Total Bekocht' was a TV show, that gave popularity to the TV hosts of a German TV station, and through heart-warming content not only did it increase the number of viewers for the show, but also positively impact the overall image of the channel.

Her first screenwriting teacher was Krzysztof Kieslowski, who influenced her profoundly. In 1998, Elke moved to Los Angeles. While enrolled in UCLA's Screenwriting Program, she gained first-hand experience in the film world working in script development. So far she has written seven screenplays and several presentation films for the BMW Z3 series. In 2001 she worked as Assistant Producer for 'Wooly Boys', a family film with Peter Fonda. Besides writing, Elke produced six documentaries for a well-established German TV channel portraying the lives of Grace Kelly, Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock, and other celebritites.

Always drawn by the visual arts, Elke studied Computer Graphics at UCLA. She worked on branding TV Stations and developing Creative for Fortune 500 clients. This year her children's book 'Hannah and the Talking Tree' won the Gold Medal in the 2010 Moonbeam Children's book awards.

In 2008, Elke finished the Producer's Program at UCLA and shortly after she wrote and produced her first feature film 'Truth Never Lies'. For this film she received the Rising Star Award for Excellence in Filmmaking at the 2010 Canada International Film Festival.
